
Employees at Hilton hotels in New York City, Los Angeles, Seattle and other cities are getting the lowest rates on employer-provided health insurance in the nation, according to data from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
The data shows that the average rate for a single employer is $1,065, and the average cost of a single policy was $8,636, according the HHS Office of Health Reform.
The lowest rates, at $2,971, were recorded for a family of four with one adult, while the average is $11,566 for a couple.
The average cost per plan was $19,939 for a full-time worker.
The highest average cost was $22,946 for a worker with a spouse or dependent.
Health care costs have become increasingly more expensive as insurers have been forced to raise premiums and cut benefits, and a new report from the Kaiser Family Foundation found that health care costs are expected to exceed annual household incomes for the first time in decades.
