
San Francisco is expected to roll out its WiFi network to employees as part of its plan to get more employees on the Internet.
Employees at the city’s Department of Public Health will be able to connect their smartphones to the San Francisco-based Wi-Fi network, which is operated by a different company than the city Department of Transportation.
It will be available for employees to use to connect to other City of San Francisco Wi-Fis, which are managed by the city, Department of Emergency Services, the Public Utilities Commission and other city departments.
The city is expected have about 4,500 employees who use Wi-fi at their desks, according to a statement from San Francisco Public Utilities Director Tom Phelan.
