The Seattle Seahawks have signed RB James Stacks to a four-years, $50 million contract, league sources told NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport.
The move comes after the Seahawks were reported to be exploring a trade for RB Marshawn Lynch.
Stacks rushed for 568 yards and four touchdowns in 2016 and has the potential to become a great back.
He’s a versatile back with the ability to play either fullback or as a 3-4 outside back.
The Seahawks are in need of another pass-catching back, but Stacks will likely be an upgrade over a future backup.
He’ll help the Seahawks fill a huge hole at the position, and Seattle will be looking to add to the depth at that position in the upcoming NFL Draft.
