Nike employee locations are everywhere in the US and many more worldwide, but the brand is known to be making an effort to be more discreet.
The brand has recently announced a new initiative, which includes a new “chkD” employee store located in the United Kingdom.
“We’ve seen that people in this business are very focused on the customer, so we’re making an investment in our customer experience,” said John Bower, VP of global sales and marketing for Nike.
Nike is looking to fill a void in its employee store program, which currently includes some 6,000 locations.
With a growing number of people being involved in the retail industry, the company wants to make the customer experience as seamless as possible.
Bower said the new store will be in the UK, but that it will be located in an adjacent store in a different country.
There are plans to expand the chkD employee store in the near future.
It’s a very significant change for Nike, which has been a major player in the footwear industry for decades.
Last year, Nike announced plans to hire more than 100,000 people, which will include about 10,000 of its employees.
